3 Preparation
3.1 Things to be done for energy saving
Following information will help you use the product in an
ecological and energy-efficient manner.
• Operatetheproductinthehighestcapacityallowedbythe
programmeyouhaveselected,butdonotoverload;see,
"Programmeandconsumptiontable".
• Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsonthedetergentpackaging.
• Washslightlysoiledlaundryatlowtemperatures.
• Usefasterprogrammesforsmallquantitiesoflightlysoiled
laundry.
• Donotusehightemperaturesforlaundrythatisnotheavily
soiled or stained.
• Donotusedetergentinexcessoftheamount
recommended on the detergent package.
3.2 Sorting the laundry
• Sortlaundryaccordingtotypeoffabric,colour,anddegree
ofsoilingandallowablewatertemperature.
• Alwaysobeytheinstructionsgivenonthegarmenttags.
3.3 Preparing laundry for washing
• Laundryitemswithmetalattachmentssuchas,underwired
bras,beltbucklesormetalbuttonswilldamagethe
machine.Removethemetalpiecesorwashtheclothesby
puttingtheminalaundrybagorpillowcase.
• Takeoutallsubstancesinthepocketssuchascoins,pens
andpaperclips,andturnpocketsinsideoutandbrush.
Suchobjectsmaydamagetheproductorcausenoise
problem.
• Putsmallsizeclothessuchasinfant'ssocksandnylon
stockingsinalaundrybagorpillowcase.
• Placecurtainsinwithoutcompressingthem.Remove
curtain attachment items.
• Fastenzippers,sewloosebuttonsandmendripsand
tears.
• Wash“machinewashable”or“handwashable”labeled
products only with an appropriate programme.
• Donotwashcoloursandwhitestogether.New,dark
colouredcottonsreleasealotofdye.Washthem
separately.
• Toughstainsmustbetreatedproperlybeforewashing.If
unsure,checkwithadrycleaner.
• Useonlydyes/colourchangersandlimescaleremovers
suitableformachinewash.Alwaysfollowtheinstructions
on the package.
• Washtrousersanddelicatelaundryturnedinsideout.
• KeeplaundryitemsmadeofAngorawoolinthefreezerfor
afewhoursbeforewashing.Thiswillreducepilling.
• Laundrythataresubjectedtomaterialssuchasflour,lime
dust,milkpowder,etc.intenselymustbeshakenoffbefore
placingintothemachine.Suchdustsandpowdersonthe
laundrymaybuildupontheinnerpartsofthemachinein
time and can cause damage.
3.4 Correct load capacity
Themaximumloadcapacitydependsonthetypeoflaundry,
the degree of soiling and the washing programme desired.
The machine automatically adjusts the amount of water
according to the weight of the loaded laundry.
A WARNING
Followtheinformationinthe“Programmeandconsumptiontable”.
Whenoverloaded,machine’swashingperformancewilldrop.
Moreover,noiseandvibrationproblemsmayoccur.

are given as examples.

3.5 Loading the laundry
Opentheloadingdoor.Placelaundryitemslooselyintothe
machine.Pushtheloadingdoortocloseuntilyouheara
locking sound. Ensure that no items are caught in the door.

The loading door is locked while a programme is running. The door
canonlybeopenedawhileaftertheprogrammecomestoanend.
A WARNING
Incaseofmisplacingthelaundry,noiseandvibrationproblemsmay
occur in the machine.
3.6 Using detergent and softener
Detergent Drawer
The detergent drawer is composed of three compartments:
- (1) for prewash
- (2) for main wash
–(3)forsoftener
–(*)inaddition,thereissiphonpieceinthesoftener
compartment.

2.11 Disposing of the old product
Disposeoftheoldproductinanenvironmentallyfriendly
manner.
Refer to your local dealer or solid waste collection centre in
your area to learn how to dispose of your product.
Forchildren'ssafety,cutthepowercableandbreakthe
lockingmechanismoftheloadingdoorsothatitwillbe
nonfunctionalbeforedisposingoftheproduct.
